Five Kalon Tripa Candidates to Join Bylakuppe Debate

Bylakuppe: With just over a month until the preliminary elections for the prestigious exile post of Kalon Tripa (prime minister), a group of volunteers in Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement have announced a major public debate, Katri Droeleng Chenmo,to be held on September 3.

China Issued New Regulations on Climbing Mt. Everest

Dharamshala: China informed climbing agencies in Kathmandu that there would be an age bar on climbing Mt Everest on Thursday. China is controlling the kid-climbers from autumn after American boy wonder Jordan Romero becoming the youngest climber in the world and made mountaineering history within after the month with not able to beat his record.

Exiled Women’s Group Donates for Earthquake-hit Tibet

Dharamshala: In the wake of the disastrous earthquake that struck Kyegudo in eastern Tibet - leaving more than 2,000 dead, 10,000 injured and hundreds of thousands homeless - on April 14 this year, the Tibetan Women's Association (TWA) and its 52 regional chapters have raised one million rupees (Rs. 1,000,000) for the quake survivors.
