Gyalwang Karmapa Launches Website for Environmental Protection

Dharamshala: His Eminence the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje launched the new website dedicated to environmental protection in the Himalayan region initiated by a network of thirty-six Buddhist monasteries across India, Nepal and Bhutan.

His Eminence the Karmapa Lama delivers keynote speech for International Day of Climate Action

Dharamshala: Over 4,600 events were held in more than 177 countries today marking the International Day of Climate Action sponsored by the US-based NGO 350.org, one of which took place at the Tibetan Children's Village (TCV) in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala. The event coincided with TCV's 49th anniversary, and was co-sponsored by the Environmental and Development Desk (EED) of the Department of International Relations and the Clean Upper Dharamsala Project (CUDP) of the Tibetan Settlement Office and Tesi Environmental Awareness Movement. H.H the Dalai Lama took part in a religious talk: A Dialogue between Man and Nature

Taipei: Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Catholic Cardinal Shan Kuo-Hsi took part in a series of religious talks titled "A Dialogue Between Man and Nature" on Wednesday morning, in Kaohsiung city, southern Taiwan. Prior to the proceedings, both parties conducted prayers for victims of the recent typhoon. Cardinal Shan emphasized the necessity of advance government preparation for natural disasters and the reduction of carbon emission. Mining project in Tibet puts human lives and environment in jeopardy

Dharamshala: Feeling grave danger to both human lives and animals because of the toxic waste from the mining work in Meldro Gungkar located near Tibet's capital Lhasa, the local Tibetan residents from Gyami township have filed a petition urging the Chinese authorities to put an immediate halt to the mining project. Volunteer Tibet students use English skills to fight local pollution
