Former Tibetan MP Venerable Gyatso Nubpa Dies Aged 58

The Venerable Chodak Gyatso Nubpa, who served as Chairman of the 10th Assembly of Tibetan People's Deputies (ATPD) from 1988-1990, in Dharamsala, north India, has passed away. He died in Gangtok, northeast India, on October 13, after a prolonged illness. As a mark of respect, the Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamsala remained closed on Saturday afternoon, following an hour-long prayer session.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama returns to Himalayan exile home

Hundreds of Tibetans and foreigners lined the streets of the Indian hill station of Mcleod Ganj, Lower-Upper Dharamsala, today 13 October 2009, in anticipation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's return from his three-week visit to the US and Canada.
