Mentsee khang celebrates 101st anniversary of founding

Dharamshala — Mentsee Khang, the premier institute for traditional Tibetan medicine and astrology marked its 101st anniversary of establishment by the 13th Dalai Lama in Lhasa, Tibet in 1916 on March 30th.

High Court rules to give passports to Tibetans born in India

Dharamshala — In a groundbreaking move for Tibetans, the government of India has decided to issue passports to Tibetans born in India between 26 January 1950 and 1 July 1987 as per the Indian Citizenship Act 1955 following a Delhi High Court ruling.

'Media has responsibility to human values:' Tibetan leader to Indian media

Dharamshala — “Especially in this time of human crisis, the media channels have real responsibility to promote human values and religious harmony. In a democratic society people have the right to know the truth and journalists should inform the public of the reality. However, you must report truthfully, objectively and in an unbiased manner,” His Holiness said in a meeting with Indian media on Wednesday, March 29th.

16th parliament concludes 3rd session with new pledge to Tibet cause

Dharamshala — The 16th Tibetan Parliament concluded its third session on March 25th, following eleven days of deliberation and discussion on CTA’s budget for the financial year 2017 – 18 and the situation inside Tibet. During the proceedings, the parliament approved a consolidated budget of 2,43,98,02,997 INR proposed by the Kashag for the activities and functions of the various departments and offices of the Central Tibetan Administration.
