Don't let China interfere with US academic freedom: Advocacy group

Washington, DC — The International Campaign for Tibet (ICT), a U.S.-based nongovernmental advocacy group Monday issued a statement on Chinese students objection to University of California San Diego's invitation to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, saying "The Chinese Embassy and Consulates should not be allowed to interfere, directly or indirectly, in the academic decisions of American universities."

China objects to Tibetan PM's presence at US Ambassador's dinner

Dharamshala — Following a dinner hosted by outgoing US Ambassador Richard Verma at which Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay was among the guests, China has voiced objections of “interference” in Chinese affairs, and claimed that they are “against any contact” by governments with Tibetans in exile.
