The Sikyong, who was in the Scandinavian nation from May 15-17 met with members of the Tibetan community in Sweden (TCS) and various members of the Swedish parliament.
The Sikyong addressed a gathering of TCS members and members of the Swedish Tibet Committee (STC) on the nature and functioning of Democracy in exile. He had spoken on the same subject at the Oslo Freedom Forum, earlier this month.
Later, on 16 May, the Sikyong held meetings with officials from Sweden's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informing them of the crises engulfing Tibet and the urgent need for change and reform in the region, through dialogue.
Dr Sangay also gave interviews to prominent Swedish radio stations and newspapers.
The Sikyong met with Swedish Members of Parliaments representing five political parties, including Kirsten Lundgren, a member of the Council of Europe. He reiterated the situation in Tibet and the problems faced by Tibetans, urging continued Swedish support.
Dr Sangay also addressed students at the prestigious University of Uppsala.
