Tibet-G20-Germany-2013Berlin: - Ahead of the G20 Summit in Russia, the Tibet Initiative Deutschland e.V. (TID/Tibet-Support-Group Germany) called on the German government to take action on Tibet.

On fourth of September (International Action Day for Tibet) members of the Tibet-Support-Group protested in front of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin.

"Tibet is burning and it's time for some concentrated action", said TID-boardmember Tsewang Norbu.

"We urge the G20 members to unite and to seriously take action in terms of the tremendous crimes against human rights in Tibet." Members of the TID delivered a suitcase for German chancellor Mrs Angela Merkel which she was supposed to take to the G20 meeting in Sankt Petersburg.

It was packed with portraits of some of the Tibetans who have self-immolated, Tibetan prayer flags, the flag of Tibet and some suggestions for her in order to make Tibet at topic at the G20 meeting.

According to the Tibet support group, it is the largest and oldest political Tibet Support Group in Germany.

TID is a non-partisan, non-religious, and non-profit organisation, was established in response to the heavy unrest in Tibet in April 1989 that was forcibly put down by the Chinese authorities.
