Siem Reap, Cambodia- On 23 March 2015, prominent Cambodian political figures, religious leaders and business men gathered at the Pañña?sa?stra University of Cambodia Siem Reap Campus in order to share their opinions on spreading peace and love in accordance with various religious scriptures.
The event, called The Alliance of Religions' Peace Dialogue, was hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), and provided leaders a venue to avoid future religious disputes.
"Influential political figures, women's group leaders, and youth leaders, as well as various religious leaders from religions including, but not limited to, Buddhism, Hinduism, Catholicism, and Baha'ism participated in the event," the organiser said in a press statement.
Representatives from each religion shared about peace, as described by their respective scriptures.
Meanwhile, it added that the "event was the first of its kind in Cambodia, a symposium aimed to stop conflicts caused by religious and ethnic misunderstandings."
Representatives agreed that this should not end as an one-time meeting, but should continue as a long-term event on a regular basis to bring cultivate tolerance and understanding between different religions.
