3jun20102Dharamshala: The exiled Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama would be making his first visit to the town of Gulabgarh in the Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir.

"The Dalai Lama would reach Gulabgarh on June 5th where he would bless his followers and attend a religious function the next day" Tenzin Taklha, joint secretary at the Dalai Lama's office said.

According to Jagnat Narboo, president of the Himalayan Buddhist Society, the organization in charge of the visit, His Holiness would give a religious teaching at the centuries old Lossang monastery in Gublabgarh. And Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is also scheduled to attend.

It is estimated that more than 25,000 Buddhists from Himachal Pradesh and the Ladakh region of Kashmir would attend the ceremony at monastery. Therefore elaborate security arrangements have been made for the visit. Around eight companies of the police, Armed Police, CRPF and the Army have been deployed in the vicinity to ensure the smooth running of this event.
