Tibetan spiritual leader joins inter religious meeting in Florence, Italy

Florence, Italy — His Holiness the Dalai Lama joined an audience of nearly 6000 and a panel of fellow religious leaders while in Tuscany this week, at an inter-religious meeting entitled, Freedom Through Rules.

Tibetan spiritual leader awarded honorary citizenship of Palermo, Italy

Palermo, Italy — His Holiness the Dalai Lama continued his European tour in Palermo, Italy, meeting with the press and public of the region, lauding their efforts at helping displaced people, saying, "your efforts reflect the fact that we all depend on others to survive. Providing shelter and facilities is one thing, what needs to be done next is for peace and development to be restored in the countries these people have fled. I believe that if the 21st century is to become an era of peace, we have to employ dialogue to resolve conflicts and problems.”

'We need to recognize oneness of humanity:' Tibetan leader in Italy

Sicily, Italy — “Many of the problems we face come about because we insist on exaggerating secondary differences of nationality, colour and even faith. This misplaced emphasis leads to division. It’s unacceptable. We need to think more deeply and recognize the oneness of humanity and that as human beings we are much the same," His Holiness said upon his arrival in Italy on September 15th, where he was publicly awarded for his promotion of peaceful solutions to conflicts.

US committee assures funding of $17M to Tibetan communities

Dharamshala — The Congressional Appropriations Committee of the US government has approved a budget of 17 million US dollars in aid to the Tibetan government in exile as a part of its 2018 budget. The aid will be to promote ‘cultural traditions, sustainable development and improve education system’ of Tibetans in exile.
