Dharamshala: A source from Tibet said, China sentenced two Tibetans; Gyalseng and Nyima Wangchuk to three years' imprisonment for posting photographs and speeches of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. They were among the four Tibetans who were arrested by Chinese official in Sog county, eastern Tibet on 1 October, the same day Chinese government held a large ceremony for the communist party's founding anniversary.

According to Mr Ngawang Tharpa, a Tibetan from Nagchu now living in exile, Gyaltsen and Nyima Wangdu have been sentenced by a Chinese court 2 or 3 days ago (Axact date unknown), their families were not allowed to contact them nor did they receive any information about them. The families have expressed concern for the health of the two prisoners.

The four that were arrested are from Sog county, eastern Tibet on 1, October 2009, the day China celebrated the 60th founding anniversary of the communist party. The two other men that were arrested, Yeshi Namkha and Anyi, have not been sentenced. Another Tibetan man from Sog county, Thupten, was arrested in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. He also has not been sentenced. The families of these three men have not been told of their locations.

Mr Ngawang Tharpa told us he suspects that police had been monitoring Gyalsing, Wanchuk and Namkha's internet activities and QQ (messenger service) accounts, through which they shared photographs of and speeches by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He also said the police had accused the three of being in communication with individuals outside of China.

In Sog county, the Chinese authority has put restrictions on Tibetan adults, especially English-speakers.

Tenzin Sherab, who is 15 years-old, 17 year-old Nagwang Lodoe, and Tsultrim Tendar, who is twenty-one, were arrested last year during a peaceful demonstration in Sog county. They are all monks of the Nyimaling Monastery, and their locations have not been disclosed.

Chokden Tsultrim, a 19 year-old monk from Tsandan Monastery, was arrested for posting a pro-independence flyer in Sog county. Another 15-year old from Sog county, by the name of Sonam Gyalpo, was arrested for shouting "Free Tibet." At this moment, no one is aware of the locations of these detained Tibetans.
