China claims to have built the best looking highway in occupied Tibet

Epressway-Lhasa-Nyinchi-Tibet-2017Dharamshala, India — Claiming the best looking Tibetan road, China's state-controlled media has reported that an Expressway or Highway opened Sunday linking Lhasa and Nyingchi , the two major cities and tourist attractions in "Tibet autonomous region" (TAR), an occupied territory in Tibet.

The 409-km toll-free expressway cuts Lhasa- Nyingchi travel time from eight to five hours at a speed limit of 80 km per hour. The new expressway costing about $5.8 billion linking Tibet's capital Lhasa with Nyingchi County, which is close to India's Arunachal Pradesh border.

The 409-km toll-free expressway has linked the two major cities which are also tourist attractions in Tibet, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. "Heavy trucks are temporarily banned from using the Lhasa- Nyingchi expressway," the state-run media further said.

Most of the expressways in Tibet are also compatible for military equipment, providing advantage for the Chinese military to move its troops and weaponry faster, according to media reports, saying "the massive infrastructure development in Tibet also prompted India to ramp up infrastructure on its side."

"As the longest highway in TAR, Lhasa-Nyingchi High Grade Highway seems like a grand scroll with spectacle. The scattered villages, terraces, wetlands, rivers, forests, and precipices are in the dynamic picture along the highway," other report said last year.

The 409-kilometer Lhasa-Nyingchi Highway starts from Liuwu New District of Lhasa and ends at Bayi Twon of Nyingchi City. The project has been embarked from 2013. Two sections with a total length of 218 kilometers, including Lhasa-Mozhugongka County section and Bayi Town-Gongbo'gyamda County section, were completed in September, 2015.

The sections are completed in last year, and whole project was linked up on June 30, 2017. Chinese authorities claimed that "the transport has been the lifeblood of Tibet's economy, and the foundation of society."

Reports also said that "Lhasa-Nyingchi High Grade Highway is a vital part of G318. It connects middle and east of Tibet-inhabited area, and links up the southwest area."

"Lhasa-Nyingchi High Grade Highway is also a major project of Tibet's transport development," they claim, saying "The Lhasa-Nyingchi High Grade Highway has speeded up Tibet's development by linking Tibet and Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle."

India-Tibet border, from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh covering 3488 kilometer of India-China Border manning Border Outposts on altitudes raging from 9000 feet to 18700 feet in the Western, Middle and Eastern Sector of the Border.

Tibet was invaded by the Communist regime in China, starting in 1949. Since that time, over 1.2 million out of 6 Tibetans died as a direct result of China's invasion and continued occupation of Tibet, over 6000 monasteries have been looted and destroyed— Crimes against Humanity and Genocide include murder, massacres, torture, rape, starvation, extreme deprivation, forced marches, enslavement, brutal violence, and systematic extermination. The communist regime continues to call this a 'peaceful liberation', that the "Tibetans are living in a Maoist socialist paradise."
