Dharamshala — As official demolition of Larung Gar Buddhist Academy in Serta County in eastern Tibet continues, Chinese authorities have unlawfully expelled hundreds more monks and nuns from the Larung Gar Buddhist Academy, leaving many of those left behind fainting and in tears over the forced patriotic reeducation in Tibet.

Dharamshala — Chinese police in Sichuan’s Ngaba county have allegedly detained and beaten a young Tibetan last week after he conducted a solo protest calling for Tibetan freedom in the eighth such protest reported in the county so far this year, sources said.

Dharamshala  — Chinese authorities in the southwestern province of Sichuan, Northeastern Tibet, have apparently tightened restrictions on anyone planning to study at the Larung Gar Buddhist Academy, allegedly forcing any potential students to first pass a 'political examination' administered by the police.

Dharamshala — Sources from Tibet confirmed that a Tibetan father of three, named Tashi Rabten died after setting himself on fire, saying he called for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the release of Panchen Gendün Chökyi Nyima, as he set himself on fire.

Dharamshala — Chinese authorities have sentenced another Kirti monastery monk in Amdo region of north-eastern Tibet to six years in prison, for allegedly sharing online information about events in Tibet abroad.
