Dharamshala, India — After over two years in detention China has today sentenced a Tibetan language advocate, to five years in prison on politically motivated charges of ‘inciting separatism’ after he publicly sought to realise his right to Tibetan language education in occupied Tibet.

Dharamshala — According to reports from Tibet, Chinese authorities have detained a Tibetan pilgrim in Darlag County en route to Lhasa.

Dharamshala — Archaeologists in Lhasa announced on April 9 that they have allegedly discovered tombs dating back more than 3,000 years in the southwestern region of the Tibetan Autonomous Region.

Dharamshala — A Tibetan Buddhist monk was detained by Chinese police in Ba county, north eastern Tibet on suspicion of sharing politically sensitive content on social media and is being held at an undisclosed location with his current condition unknown.

Dharamshala, India — Chinese authorities have seized farmland in southern Tibet to build an airport, displacing Tibetan villagers and offering far less in compensation than the land is worth. The new airport opened last last year, marking the launching of the 5th civil airport in Tibet.

Dharamshala — According to reports, China is attempting to build a rain-making system to increase the amount of rainfall on the Tibetan plateau.
