Beijing limiting freedoms, prohibits observance of holy month in Tibet

Dharamshala — Sources in Tibet have reported that Chinese authorities have further imposed restrictions to religious freedoms by denying students, teachers and faculty a holiday during Sakadawa, the holy month of the Buddha and prohibiting observance even at home.

Tibetan monk dies after self-Immolation to protest China's rule in Tibet

Dharamshala — A Tibetan monk reportedly died after setting himself ablaze in Chengtsa County of North-eastern Tibet on Thursday, demanding the return of the Dalai Lama from exile and protesting against Chinese rule over the Himalayan nation.

CCP now compelling polygraph test to unite 'anti-separatist work'

Dharamshala — Officials in eastern Tibet are reportedly being forced to undergo a polygraph test as part of an evaluation of their political loyalty to the CCP. The news, published in the state media, is just one new factor indicating a stepping-up of surveillance and intrusion into the private lives and thoughts of Tibetans, in attempts to stamp out those loyal to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
