New York — Tibetan activists staged a protest against the Chinese government and called on China to release the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet and other Tibetans imprisoned for exercising their freedom of expression and protecting Tibet's fragile environment. The activists also called on the UN to pressure China to end genocide and torture in Tibet and to grant independent media access to Tibet to see the reality in Tibet.

Dharamshala — The Tibetan Children's Village School (TCV) commemorated its 65th anniversary on October 23, 2025. Since its founding, over 50,000 students have graduated from TCV. Currently, TCV has 5,190 students in its seven boarding schools and four day schools, two vocational training centers, and the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education.

Dharamshala — His Holinesss the Dalai Lama has written to Sanae Takaichi to congratulate her on her election as first Prime Minister of Japan. His Holiness wrote," I am pleased to note that in you Japan has elected its first woman prime minister. I believe that women are more compassionate and sensitive to the feelings of others. I am therefore firmly convinced that if more of our leaders were women, the world would be a more understanding, peaceful place."

Dharamshala — To honour the extraordinary legacy of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, the International Tibet Network awards the Tenzin Delek Rinpoche Medal of Courage to Tibetan human rights defenders who demonstrate a deep commitment to the freedom and rights of the Tibetan people, often at great personal risk. This year, the Medal of Courage was awarded to Hungkar Dorjee Rinpoche.

Dharamshala — The Election Commission of Central Tibetan Administration announced on October 7, 2025, that primary election of the 2025-26 for Sikyong and member of 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will be held on February 1, 2026 and the final election will be hel on April 26, 2025, on the same day for Tibetans around the world. The official slogans for the 2025-26 Tibetan Elections is " I am Tibet, I vote for Tibet," signifying unity and strength of the Tibetan people.
