Geneva — Australia condemns human rights violations committed by the Chinese government in Tibet and calls on governments not to interfere in the selection of the reincarnation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Washington, D.C. — The United States Department of State released it's 2024 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices on Tuesady, detailing surveillance and control, arbitrary detention, arrest, imprisonment, and severe restrictions on freedom of expression, belief, and movement in East Turkestan, Hong Kong, and Tibet. It also reported on the Chinese government's transnational repression of Tibetan activists in free countries.
London — His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet and the Nobel Peace Prize laureate, awarded the prestigious International Peace Prize by the International Council of Jurists. The prize was given in recognition of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's "lifelong commitment to non-violence, global peace, and universal compassion."
Leh, Ladakh — President Petr Pavel of the Czech Republic met with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the political leader of Tibet, Sikyong Penpa Tsering in Leh, Ladakh on Sunday. President Pavel extended his warm congratulations to His Holiness on the occasion of his 90th birthday and he also expressed his support for the Tibetan cause and freedom for Tibetans.
Tawang — Hundreds of people held a peace march in the Tawang district to urge the Indian government to bestow the Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian honour, on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama for his unparalleled contribution to peace, humanity and spiritual values.
New Delhi — The International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) celebrated His Holiness the Dalai Lama's profound contributions to promoting peace, non-violence, interfaith dialogue, and universal responsibility in an increasingly complex world. IBC said, “through this tribute, we reaffirm our commitment to carrying forward His Holiness’ vision for a more mindful, compassionate, and harmonious global community.”
