In the span of the last three years, Tibet Post International, in collaboration with the auspices of the Humanitarian Literature Trust (HLT), has launched a trilogy of intellectually enriching publications.
The journey commenced in 2014 with the debut of "The Voice of an Exiled Tibetan," authored by the esteemed Tibetan exile writer, Yeshe Choesang. This seminal work was heralded by the Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, gracing the auspicious occasion of International Human Rights Day on December 10, 2014.
This seminal tome serves as a meticulous anthology, meticulously curated to address the contemporary trials confronting Tibetans both within their homeland and in exile. It endeavors to counter the narratives propagated by China and other nations concerning Tibet, delving into the geopolitical intricacies and shedding light on the egregious plight of Tibetans amidst the dominion of Communist China.
Following suit in May 2015, emerged a poignant compilation of Tibetan poetry entitled "Roar within Rhythm," a collaborative effort solicited through a website established in 2014. This poetic opus, celebrating Tibetan ethos, culture, language, and spirituality, refrains from political discourse. It stands as a testament to the creative expression flourishing within the Tibetan diaspora, fostering cultural celebration and exchange.
The year 2016 bore witness to the publication of "The Real Subject in Focus," a compendium comprising over 30 exclusive interviews. This magnum opus delves into the realm of Tibetan democracy in exile, shedding light on human rights issues within Tibet, with a particular emphasis on recent electoral processes. Encompassing conversations with eminent figures spanning governmental, NGO, and former political prisoner domains, this anthology offers a multifaceted exploration of Tibetan society.
Expanding its literary repertoire, HLT ventured into tactile publications with the release of "Women Who Hold the Pen" in 2018, a collection of interviews spotlighting exiled Tibetan women. Launched with due reverence by Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, this groundbreaking work amplifies the voices of Tibetan women, serving as a testament to their resilience and contribution.
In an ambitious stride, HLT is poised to publish Yeshe Choesang's forthcoming work, "China's Super-Sensitive Is A Big Fat Liar: Dissecting Political Propaganda & Disconnecting Tibet from the Global Discourse." This incisive exposé scrutinizes the Chinese government's manipulative deployment of the term "sensitive" as a propagandist tool, elucidating its insidious ramifications on Tibet and its global perception. Through meticulous analysis, it unveils China's concerted efforts to subvert truth and stifle dissent, posing a formidable challenge to principles of equity, justice, and democratic values.
In tandem with its literary endeavors, the TPI has expanded its reach by launching a bi-monthly newspaper, complementing its existing English-language print journal. Inaugurated on December 10, 2012, by the esteemed Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, Penpa Tsering, this broadsheet serves as a beacon of truth, offering comprehensive coverage of events within Tibet and the exiled Tibetan community. As the journal evolves, it aims to feature thought-provoking articles, responses to misrepresentations of Tibetan culture by the Chinese press, comparative analyses of the Chinese constitution, insights into media freedom in Tibet, and serialized publications of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's speeches. Additionally, it welcomes guest columns and letters to the editor, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and perspectives within the Tibetan diaspora and beyond.
