Dharamshala: A bold new initiative of McLeod Ganj's Institute of Buddhist Dialectics is a project to translate the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama into different Tibetan regional dialects, in an effort to reach out to the broader Tibetan community from all three provinces, many of whom cannot understand standard Tibetan and are thereby denied the wisdom and guidance of His Holiness.

Dharamshala: A new dictionary written by Tibetan scholars inside Tibet titled , "Chinese-Tibetan-English Dictionary of New Daily Vocabulary" was launched at a press conference on Thursday by Thupten Lungrig, the education Minister of Tibetan government in-exile.

Dharamshala: Results released last Friday have shown that female students in Tibetan schools have gained higher marks then their male counterparts in all three subject areas of the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE). The exams, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, took place between March and April this year.

Dharamshala: Tibetan Women's Association yesterday started an eleven day advanced Leadership Training for Tibetan Women in Exile to stand up challenging their roles in the decision making arena. This is "to strengthening the whole Tibetan democratic community by empowering our women," said Kirti Dolkar Lhamo, the president of TWA.

Dharamshala: Inspired by a request made by His Holiness the Dalai lama, in 2004 Geshe Lobsang Yonten started a project supported by Stongde Monastery in Zanskar in the kargil region of Kashmir. The project was started with the education of the children of the district as the highest priority.

Dharamshala: The Tibetan Women's Association (TWA) led the second Tibetan Nuns' Leadership Programme in a bid to carry out the wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who has called for nuns to gain confidence - and believe in their ability to make a difference.
