Tibetan Female Students Shine in AISSCE Results
Dharamshala: Results released last Friday have shown that female students in Tibetan schools have gained higher marks then their male counterparts in all three subject areas of the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE). The exams, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, took place between March and April this year.
First Tibetan Women’s Advanced Leadership Training Begins in Dharamshala
Dharamshala: Tibetan Women's Association yesterday started an eleven day advanced Leadership Training for Tibetan Women in Exile to stand up challenging their roles in the decision making arena. This is "to strengthening the whole Tibetan democratic community by empowering our women," said Kirti Dolkar Lhamo, the president of TWA.
Zanskar Hopes to Preserve its Endangered Culture
Dharamshala: Inspired by a request made by His Holiness the Dalai lama, in 2004 Geshe Lobsang Yonten started a project supported by Stongde Monastery in Zanskar in the kargil region of Kashmir. The project was started with the education of the children of the district as the highest priority.
TWA Educates Nuns to be Community Leaders
Dharamshala: The Tibetan Women's Association (TWA) led the second Tibetan Nuns' Leadership Programme in a bid to carry out the wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who has called for nuns to gain confidence - and believe in their ability to make a difference.
