Dharamshala, India — His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tibet's spiritual leader, has donated to the PM CARES Fund on April 27, 2021, which was established to enable people to contribute to the government's containment and relief efforts against the COVID-19 outbreak in India.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama has expressed his unwavering support for India's efforts to control the spread of the deadly coronavirus within the country.

“I have been following the continuing challenge that the Covid-19 pandemic has been posing across the world, including in India, with concern," said His Holiness, according to the official website of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

“At this critical time, during this alarming Covid-19 surge, I have asked the Dalai Lama Trust to make a donation to the PM-CARES Fund as a token of our solidarity with fellow Indian brothers and sisters," the Nobel Peace laureate said in his letter.

Finally, the Tibetan spiritual leader expressed gratitude to the frontline personnel for their efforts and said “May I take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation for all the efforts that are being made to tackle this devastating pandemic, especially by those courageously working on the frontline.
