Dharamshala: I had decided that I would intern with the Tibet Post International (TPI) ever since some volunteers of Students For A Free Tibet came to my college to raise awareness about the Tibetan cause last year. A few contacts who highly praised the newspaper also informed my decision to intern in McLeodganj.

Dharamshala: In all parts of occupied Tibet, the suffering of the Tibetan people under Chinese rule grows day by day. Gross violations of basic rights and the freedom to practice religion and culture are endemic, and the situation has been long known to whole world.

Dharamshala: - During the past 10 years, President of China, Hu Jintao, has strongly propagated a 'harmonious society' and 'a path of reform and opening up' which in turn would generate equality for everyone. There is still hope the leadership might bring a new perspective on Tibet before his decade-long presidency.

Dharamshala: - On March 26, the Central Tibetan Administration released a statement entitled "At Least Seven Reasons Why Beijing is Responsible for the Self-Immolations in Tibet." The statement rejects Beijing's claims that His Holiness the Dalai Lama is encouraging acts of self-immolation in Tibet.
