Dharamshala: - During the past 10 years, President of China, Hu Jintao, has strongly propagated a 'harmonious society' and 'a path of reform and opening up' which in turn would generate equality for everyone. There is still hope the leadership might bring a new perspective on Tibet before his decade-long presidency.

Dharamshala: I had decided that I would intern with the Tibet Post International (TPI) ever since some volunteers of Students For A Free Tibet came to my college to raise awareness about the Tibetan cause last year. A few contacts who highly praised the newspaper also informed my decision to intern in McLeodganj.

London, UK: - Since March, eleven Tibetans within Tibet, including monks, former monks and two nuns, have set themselves on fire. At least six of them have died in the act. Tibetan protests have been taking place over the course of six decades of cultural genocide inflicted by the Chinese state.

London: A wave of protest has fanned across the Tibetan region recently: the self-immolation of Buddhist Monks. Five Tibetan teenagers have self-immolated in just one week, and a further three self-immolated and died since March of this year. The cases of protest are occurring in Tibetan ethnic regions of China's Sichuan province, largely around Kirti Monastery of Eastern Tibet, which has witnessed a large security crackdown by Chinese forces since the immolations began in March, and a forced exodus and ‘patriotic re-education programme' of around three-hundred Tibetan monks.

Dharamshala: - On March 26, the Central Tibetan Administration released a statement entitled "At Least Seven Reasons Why Beijing is Responsible for the Self-Immolations in Tibet." The statement rejects Beijing's claims that His Holiness the Dalai Lama is encouraging acts of self-immolation in Tibet.

Dharamshala: - "Bear in mind that, apart from the reincarnation recognized through such legitimate methods, no recognition or acceptance should be given to a candidate chosen for political ends by anyone, including those in the People's Republic of China." - His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet, 24 September 2011.
