New York — Hundreds of Tibetans held a large-scale protest in front of the United Nations headquarters, in New York, on August 6, 2026, holding photographs of 171 Tibetan self-immolators including the latest Tibetan self-immolator Lobga Rangzen. They demanded justice for Lobga Rangzen and 170 Tibetan self-immolators. They further condemned the United Nations for failing to uphold justice for Tibet.

Dharamshala — Tibetan-Americans including 82-year-old Dorjee Gyalpo began their "Peace Walk for a Free Tibet" from Saint Paul, the Capital city of Minnesota to Chicago, on August 5, 2026. They will arrive at the Chicago Chinese Consulate on the 49th day after Tibetan activist Lobga Rangzen's self-immolation outside the United Nations, NY. The Peace walk is to honor Pawo Lobga Rangzen and amplify his final call for Tibetan independence and raise awareness on critical situation in Tibet.

Dharamshala — Tibetan Women’s Association held a Silent Protest to protest against the UNO’s silence on the Tibetan martyr Lobga Rangzen’s self-immolation in front of UN headquarters in New York and demanded justice for Lobga Rangzen. They call on UN, governments, Tibet supporters, and democracy advocates to hold China accountable for the repression that drove Lobga Rangzen to self-immolation and call on China to repeal the so-called "Ethnic Unity Law".

Dharamshala — Hundreds of Tibetans and Tibet supporters including Richard Gere, gathered at Time Square, NY, to honor Tibetan Independence Activist Lobga Rangzen and protest against China’s Genocidal “Ethnic Unity Progress Law”. young Tibetans performed die-in action representing 171 Tibetan self-immolators, who sacrificed their lives for a free and independent Tibet and call for return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet. Jigme Ugen said,"Do not mistake our non-violence for weakness. Do not mistake our patience for surrender. We are peaceful people, but we are not defeated people."

Dharamshala — Tibetans carried the the coffins of over 170 Tibetan self-immolators from Jackson Heights to UN headquarters in New York and along with them marched by hundreds of Tibetans and they protested against the China's illegal occupation of Tibet, implmenting oppressive policies in Tibet, particular China's genocide law (Ethic Unity Law) and demand freedom for Tibet.

Dharamshala — More than 60 Tibetans shaved their heads in solidarity with Tibetan martyr Lobga Rangzen and all those who have sacrificed their lives for a free Tibet; Lobga Rangzen had set himself on fire in front of the United Nations headquarters to protest against China's illegal occupation of Tibet, its oppressive actions in the region, and the genocidal policies implementing in Tibet.
