Dharamshala — His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was formally presented with the Grammy Award by Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, accompanied by Amaan Ali Bangash, Ayaan Ali Bangash, and Kabir Gill Sehgal at his residence in Dharamshala on June 3, 2026.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Spiritual leader of Tibet, received the Grammy Award for Best Audiobook narration - Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The album includes his reflections on heart, oneness, harmony, kindness, mind, health, water, essebce and peace. His Holiness said,"I truly believe that peace, compassion, care for our environment, and an understanding of the oneness of humanity are essential for the collective well-being of all eight billion human beings."
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, United States. Canadian-American singer, songwriter, and composer Rufus McGarrigle Wainwright accepted the Grammy Award on behalf of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and stated, "it was a privilege to participate in this project. It's an honor to accept this recognition on behalf of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, whose wisdom is at the heart of this work. In his words, the most precious human quality is warmheartedness and caring for one another."
His Holiness the Dalai Lama wrote on his official website," I receive this recognition with gratitude and humility.
