Hope the Hindi dialectic book will be incorporated into India's new education policy: Tong-len Director

Dharamshala — Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh launches Tong-Len's translated Hindi dialectic book on Monday. At the launch ceremony, the Tong-Len school director said that dialectics strengthens critical thinking skills and cultivates essential qualities in today's ever-changing world, such as problem solving, logical reasoning and clarity. This fits perfectly with India's new education policy. We believe that this book will become a valuable resource not only for our Tong-Len students, but also for schools and colleges in Himachal Pradesh and beyond.

Shri Rohit Thakur, honourable Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Cheme Rigzin, the Sceretary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama Office, Jamphel Lhundup, the Secretary of the Dalai Lama Trust, Ashess Koli, the Director of Elementary Education, Dhondul Dorjee, Secretary of Department of Religion and Culture, CTA, Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi, Secretary of Kashag (Cabinet), CTA and dignitaries, launched Tong-Len's translated Hindi dialectic book, which aims to fulfil the fourth main commitment of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama: the revival of ancient Indian knowledge. This initiative is a sincere tribute to His Holiness' noble vision. The event held at Dhauladhar Heights Hotel, Dharamshala, on December 1,2025.

Ven Lobsang Jamyang, founder and Director of Tong-len School said at the event, "For more than 20 years, Tong-Len Charitable Trust has been working to uplift underprivileged communities in Himachal Pradesh. Tong-Len, deeply inspired by the teachings and compassion of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, and Tong-Len has focused on education, health, and social welfare mainly for the most vulnerable. This journey-grounded in service and acknowledgment of India's compassion toward Tibetans - has transformed thousands of lives."

"Today, we gather to the launch of our newly translated Hindi dialectic book, directly linked to His Holiness's fourth principal commitment - the revival of ancient Indian knowledge. It is our sincere contribution to this noble commitment, with the aspiration to reach millions of students," the Director Ven Jamyang said.

"The tradition of dialectics has existed in India for more than two thousand years. Although it was refined and preserved for centuries within Tibetan monastic education, the roots of dialectics lie in India's rich philosophical heritage. Our desire is to help bring this profound Indian intellectual tradition back into the mainstream of modern education," the director explained.

"Dialectics strengthens the capacity to think critically, analyse deeply, and understand reality as it truly is. It cultivates problem-solving, logical reasoning, creativity, and clarity qualities that are indispensable in today's fast-changing world. More importantly it nurtures compassion, discernment, and the ability to see the interconnected nature of life," he added.

Ven Jamyang stated, "This is perfectly aligned with India's New Education Policy, which highlights the importance of critical thinking, creativity, inquiry-based learning, and value-based education. We believe this book will become a valuable resource not only for our Students at long-Len but also for schools and colleges across Himachal Pradesh and beyond."

"Over the past three years, our teachers have been teaching dialectics in Hindi to Tong-Len students. Their experience has helped us create the method of dialectics in Hindi in a way that is more practical, accessible, and relevant for modern students. This book is not merely a resource - it is a step towards reviving India's ancient wisdom and bringing it back to the children of this noble land," the Director of Tong-Len School explained.

"In essence, this launch is about strengthening human potential essential in nurturing individuals, who can think clearly, act wisely, and serve compassionately, qualities needed for building communities, the nation, and the world," he said.

"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Dala Lama Trust, Tong-Len UK, and Tong-Len France and all our partners and supporters who have guided, inspired, and given us the opportunity for this journey," Ven Jamyang concluded his speech.

The Chief guest Shri Rohit Thakur and other guests delivered their speeches and expressed their gratitude to Tong-Len for its support and to translator Sonam Dorjee for his work on the book. Guests also emphasised the importance of dialectics in schools and the revival of ancient Indian knowledge through this methodology.
