Dharamshala — The Tibet-Himalayan Relations Conference inaugurated in Dharamsala with over 80 participants from Bhutan, Nepal, India and Tibet. Scholars and representatives from the Ladakh, Monyul, Sikkim and Sharpa will discuss their history and relations with Tibet. The Sikyong said, 'This conference focuses on the historical, cultural and commercial relations between the Himalayan states and Tibet, and aims to promote better mutual understanding.'

Dharamshala — The Central Tibetan Administration and Tibetans celebrated the 65th anniversary of Tibetan Democracy Day in Dharamsala on Tuesday. The Sikyong said that Tibetans in exile enjoy full democracy, bestowed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, but that in Tibet, the Chinese Communist Party has destroyed over 6000 monasteries, forcibly disrobing monks and nuns, and killed approximately 1.2 million Tibetans. He said, "In the history of the Tibetan Buddhism, no force has ever caused a greater threat to the Buddha Dharma than the PRC’s Communist government."

New York — Tibetan activists from Tibetan organisations based in New York staged a protest outside the Chinese consulate to demand the release of Tibetan environmentalist A-Nya Sengdra, who was sentenced to seven years in prison for protesting against illegal mining, wildlife poaching in Tibet, and government corruption involving funds intended for the resettlement of nomads.

Shewatsel, Leh, Ladakh — His Holiness the Dalai Lama said, "When we look at the world today, there is a tendency to resort to the use of force. We need to take more care to work to create a world free of violence. We have to work for peace. If each of us works to cultivate peace and non-violence wherever we are, there is some hope that we can achieve peace in the world. I feel that if we can do this, we’ll not only attain peace of mind in ourselves but we will create a positive atmosphere in the world around us."

New Delhi — When Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi landed in New Delhi on Monday, Tibetan activists from the Tibetan Youth Congress immediately staged a strong protest against Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to India and called on China to end the cultural genocide in Tibet and cease interfering in the reincarnation of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.

New Delhi — Tibetan activists from Students for a Free Tibet- India protested against Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to India and strongly condemned the Chinese government's recent claim to exercise authority over the future reincarnation of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. SFT activists also urged India to seek a permanent solution to the Indo-Tibetan border issue and address the root cause of the conflict-China's occupation of Tibet.
