Dharamshala — "China's Colonial Game in Tibet" was launched in Dharamsala on March 6, 2026, a few days before Tibetan Uprising Day on March 10, 2026. This book talks about the independent status of Tibet, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan cultural genocide, the destruction of the environment, education as a colonial tool under the Chinese Communist government, the Tibetan freedom movement, and Tibetan self-immolations.

This book brings together 39 authors, including Professor Samdhong Rinpoche, Sikyong Penpa Tsering, Claude Arpi, Professor Robert Destro, Geshe Lhador, Chemi Lhamo, and was edited by Vijay Kranti, a veteran Indian journalist and long-time supporter of Tibet. It is published by the Centre for Himalayan Asia Studies And Engagement (CHASE) in New Delhi.

The book launch took place in the hall of the Tibetan Settlement Office, in Dharamshala, on March 6, 2026. Tibetan activist Tenzin Tsundue moderated the event, and Vijay Kranti spoke about his new book, Tsering Choephel, President of the Tibetan Youth Congress, delivered a speech of thanks. Tibetan journalists and Tibetans around the Dharamshala were present at the press conference.

While talking about the book, Vijay Kranti said, "CHASE, in collaboration with Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) organised about 30 international webinars on various hot issues related to Tibet and China during 2020-2023 period. We focused on some of the best and experienced communicators as our experts who understand these issues and have long experience in reaching out to their audiences. Finally we selected about 15 webinars which were focused on those issues which Tibet supporters have been raising at various international forums and which present the most inhuman and prominent dimensions of China’s colonial games in Tibet." "Our main challenge was to reproduce the spoken presentations of these experts over the audio-visual platform into essay like written words and present it in the form of a book. This way it is our endeavor to present a wholesome narration of all major colonial problems and issues, being faced by the people of Tibet, into a single book," Vijay Kranti explained.

He also spoke about the repressive policies faced by Tibetans in Tibet and the Tibetans who have set themselves on fire to demand freedom in Tibet and the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He said, "Unfortunately this silence of governments, international organizations – especially the United Nations -- and the most influential international media houses who claim to be the greatest champions of human rights and freedom of expression, have been perpetually found wanting on what is going on inside China-occupied colonies like Tibet. Almost all of them have failed individually as well as collectively to take any meaningful action against the blatantly inhuman acts of the Chinese regime against its own people as well as its colonial subjects in occupied countries of Tibet, East Turkestan (Ch: ‘Xinjiang’), Southern Mongolia and Hong Kong."

"The saddest and most unfortunate part of this game is that while China’s communist masters have been successful in keeping a strong lid on all these developments, the international community has, in effect, chosen to keep its eyes closed and mouth shut against this ongoing crime against the most helpless section of human society. Hence the need for waking up the world’s conscience before it is too late," he added.

He further said, "With the help of 39 well informed experts, observers and researchers from across the world, it is our endeavor at Centre for Himalayan Asia Studies and Engagement (CHASE) to present authentic information on these as well as many other aspects of the colonial games being played by China’s communist masters in China’s colonies. This book is the first and the Tibetan installment in this direction. It is our endeavor to present similar studies on China’s other colonies like East Turkestan, S. Mongolia, Hong Kong, Manchuria etc. in near future."

"CHASE organised over 30 international webinars on major issues related to Tibet and China. We organized these webinars with the active participation of Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) which is the largest and true representative of the struggle and aspirations of the people of Tibet – living in exile as well as those living inside Chinese occupied Tibet. We had the privilege of enrolling some of the best known experts and experienced communicators from across the globe who understands these issues deeply. Out of these 30 webinars we have selected 15 which were focused on all those issues related to the denial of human rights to the people of Tibet as a part of the colonial games which the Chinese Communist Party and its leaders have been playing inside Tibet since its occupation in 1951. This collection of essays and presentations covers almost all such issues related to Tibet and China which have been, time and again, raised at various international forums but not followed up to their logical end. This way it has been the endeavor of CHASE to make this book a unique platform which presents a complete, honest and fearless account of all those colonial games which are being played inside occupied Tibet by its Chinese colonial masters," the Vijay Kranti, President of CHASE concluded his talk.
