Taipei: Over 1,200 protestors gathered at the Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station yesterday afternoon to commemorate the 51st Tibetan Uprising Day. The protest also marked the 2nd anniversary of the 2008 protests and subsequent Chinese crackdown, and the fifth anniversary of the widely criticised Anti-Secession Law, implemented by the PRC to assure a "non-peaceful" response to Taiwanese independence.

Dharamshala: Kelsang Gyaltsen, envoy of Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on Thursday said world leaders should follow the example of US President Barack Obama and meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama, AFP reported.

Dharamshala: The delegation comprised of 23 members representing Chinese democratic organisations based in 8 different countries, namely the US, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Germany, Canada and Hong Kong.

The committee is one of two institutions in Brussels which advises the European Parliament. President Mario Sepi accepted a personal invitation from the Committee's Chinese counterpart, the Economic and Social Council of China last October to visit Tibet.

(Ottawa, Wednesday, 10 March 2010) - The Canada Tibet Committee (CTC) calls on Prime Minister Stephen Harper, as host of the G8 summit, to bring his counterparts together to deliver an unambiguous two word message to President Hu Jintao that "it's time" to take advantage of the historic opportunity presented by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to reach a peaceful solution to the Tibet issue.
