Dharamshala — The Chinese government has implemented a series of measures aimed at “promoting the concept of a single Chinese nation” in the Lhoka region of Tibet, imposing a “love for China” on the Tibetan people, and forcing Tibetan children in primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and other institutions in the city of Lhoka to prioritize the study and dissemination of the Chinese language, to undergo mandatory “patriotic education,” and to demand compliance with and enforcement of orders issued by Xi Jinping.
According to this source, Chinese authorities have released a report covering the past ten years, from 2016 to 2026, in Lhoka, Tibet, describing how they have implemented a series of measures, imposed policies, organised workshops, held meetings, and conducted propaganda campaigns in order to “promote unity among the peoples and the concept of a single Chinese nation,” imposed “love for China” and “patriotic education” on the Tibetan people, and enforced the orders issued by Xi Jinping in the Lhoka region of Tibet.
Furthermore, they have forced Tibetan children in primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and other institutions in the city of Lhoka to prioritise the study and promotion of the Chinese language and to undergo mandatory “patriotic education.” The report states that the children are “improving in their practice and use of the Chinese language.” These actions violate Article 4 of the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, which guarantees minority groups the right to learn, use, and develop their own spoken and written languages. The Chinese authorities are violating their own constitution and forcibly depriving Tibetan children of their rights to learn, speak, use, and develop their own language (Tibetan).
Every June, Chinese authorities in Tibet organize propaganda campaigns aimed at promoting “love for China and loyalty to the CCP,” as well as “learning and respecting the law.” The authorities summon the Tibetan people to indoctrination workshops, force Tibetan leaders and staff to demonstrate loyalty to the CCP, disseminate Chinese propaganda on Xi Jinping’s orders, and warn Tibetans not to participate in religious rituals or maintain their faith, particularly in His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Kirti Rinpoche.
According to reliable sources, Chinese authorities, police, and armed forces are tightening restrictions on Tibetans’ freedom of movement, preventing them from learning the Tibetan language, arresting those who attempt to protect Tibet’s fragile environment, and monitoring their social media accounts—particularly those of people with family members, relatives, or friends abroad.
