Emperors of Tibet chose to introduce Buddhism to Tibet directly from India: Tibetan leader

Bodhgaya, India — Turning to historical relations between Tibet and India in the 7th and 8th centuries, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said that despite close relations with China, emperors of Tibet chose to introduce Buddhism to Tibet directly from India and chose to develop a Tibetan written script modeled on the ancient Indian Devanagari alphabet.
