Dharamshala — China's Ministry of Education announces a new law entitled <<The Patriotic Education Law of the People's Republic of China>>, which was passed on October 24, 2023 and will come into effect on January 1, 2024. It states that "while ensuring the patriotic education to all citizens, it emphasizes the education of youth and children at school and at home."

According to Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (PRC), a new law passed on October 24, 2023 at the sixth meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress and which will come into effect on January 1, 2024. It states, “The law aims to strengthen patriotic education and to transmit and promote the spirit of patriotism. It comprises five chapters and 40 articles.”

Under the leadership of Xi Jinping, China is once again enforcing the patriotic education law to everyone, especially to children and youth in school and at home, in order to brainwash people’s mind and eliminate minorities’ culture and history of minorities. Tibetan children at Chinese boarding school, Tibetans at homes, Monks in Tibetan monasteries and nuns in the nunneries will be the victim of this new patriotic education law, even though it is not first time China has enforced patriotic education on Tibetans, especially monks and nuns.

According the announcement, ‘the new law will teach Chinese Communist Party ideology, Chinese politics, Chinese culture, the Chinese constitution and the law to all citizens at village and city level, civil servants, employees of enterprises and institutions, villagers, residents of Hong Kong and Macau, especially students and young people, and will also target residents of Taiwan and overseas Chinese around the world.’ This new law not only aims to brainwash the Chinese in the cities, but also to target villagers, who are less educated and have little influence on the central government. The Chinese government wants to introduce CCP ideology into all age groups and at national and international level, it wants to turn people into CCP lackeys through this law on patriotic education.

It also stipulates that "if the departments and units working on patriotism education fail to fulfil their responsibilities for patriotism education in accordance with the law, the leaders and other persons directly responsible shall be punished in accordance with the law". Thus, the Chinese Government wants patriotic education to be deeply rooted in the people's minds, and if it fails to do so, it will be punished.
