Dharamshala — His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet meets with the US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues Uzra Zeya, during her two-day visit to Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), the US Special Coordinator conveyed the greetings of US President Joe Biden and the American people to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama met with Uzra Zeya, the US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues or Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights of the United States, Chargé d’Affaires Patricia Lacina, and USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator Änjali Kaur, as well as Sikyong Penpa Tsering of CTA, DIIR Kalon (minister) Norzin Dolma, Namgyal Choedup, representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in North America and others on May 19, 2022, in his residence at McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala, H.P, India.

In her meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the US Special Coordinator conveyed the greetings of US President Joe Biden and the American people to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. She also extended her best wishes for the health of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and expressed the gratitude of the world for the messages of peace that His Holiness embodies.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed his joy to meet the US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues and they discussed the rich traditions of freedom and democracy in the United States and India. His Holiness emphasised the oneness of all humanity and also explained his four main commitments in life, namely the Promotion of universal values, Promotion of religious harmony, Preservation of Tibetan culture and environment, and Revival of ancient Indian wisdom to US Special Coordinator and the delegation.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama added that despite all the efforts of the PRC, it has failed to win the Tibetan people and transform their minds.

During the US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues and the delegation visit to the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, the Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel expressed his gratitude on behalf of all Tibetans and the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile for the continued support of the United States and its people and asked for the continuation of this support adding, "Your visit to Dharamsala sends a clear message to the Chinese government. The Deputy Speaker Dolma Tsering Teykhang presented the evolution, composition and functioning of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and highlighted the current critical situation in Tibet.

Sikyong Penpa Tsering tweeted, "Incredibly honoured to host @UnderSecStateJ , US Special Coordinator for the Tibetan Issues' first official visit to the Central Tibetan Administration today, reaffirming the US commitment to the cause of Tibet. Thank you, @UnderSecStateJ & delegates, for making this long trip."

During their two-day stay in Dharamshala, US Special Coordinator Zeya and the delegation met His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet and the Sikyong of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), as well as other top CTA officials, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, and representatives of Tibetan NGOs in Dharamshala. They also visited the CTA offices, Tibet Museum, Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, Tibetan Children's Village School, Norbulingka Institute and Gyuto Monastery.
