His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed condolences to victims of earthquake in Nepal

Dharamshala — His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, expressed his condolences to the Prime Minister and the victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal. His Holiness wrote: "I offer my condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones. As a token of my solidarity with the people of Nepal, I hope to be able to make a donation towards the rescue and relief efforts."

His Holiness the Dalai Lama wrote to the Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, on November 6, 2023, to express his sadness at the devastating earthquake that recently struck western Nepal, resulting in the loss of precious lives and many injuries.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama wrote, "I offer my condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones, and pray for all those affected by this tragedy."

"I understand that everything is being done by your government, as well as related agencies, to provide necessary help and support to the people affected by this calamity," His Holiness added.

"As a token of my solidarity with the people of Nepal, I hope to be able to make a donation towards the rescue and relief efforts," the spiritual leader of Tibet wrote.

According to reports, A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck the Jajarkot district of Nepal's Karnali province on November 3, 2023, killing 153 people and injuring at least 375. The earthquake was widely felt in western Nepal and northern India, and is the deadliest to hit the country since 2015.
