Taipei — On the occasion of the 25th year enforced disappearance of 11th Panchen Lama, Gendun Choekyi Nyima, the Tibetan Community Association in Taiwan through peace protest demanded China to swiftly release the 11th Panchen Lama.

They also call for the immediate release of the Panchen Lama's family along with Chadrel Rinpoche, the former Abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, and the head of the search committee for the reincarnation of the 10th Panchen Lama, according to the CTA official media.

On 17th May evening, Tibetans and members of Tibetan Support Groups assembled at Liberty Square to offer their prayers and well wishes to the portrait of Panchen Lama followed by demonstration calling out China to promptly release Gendun Choekyi Nyima.

President of the Tibetan community in Taiwan, Tenzin Namdak introduced the day’s significance to the gathering.

Supporters and friends of Tibet in Taiwan also have participated in a virtual candlelight vigil for the release of Panchen Lama.

As per the request of CTA, the Tibetans and TSG members participated in the global candlelight vigil for the release of Gendun Choekyi Nyima and all other Tibetan prisoners of conscience.
