Prague —Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, attended the third summit of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) held in Prague from 1 to 2 September 2023. Deputy Speaker said,"CCP is targeting the fundamentals of the Tibetan identity- our language and religion, which is also the bedrock of our civilization. Beijing’s effort to control the highest and most revered person of Tibet proves that CCP has no legitimacy to rule Tibet legally, politically and morally."

Canberra — Australian Senator Janet Rice raised concerns about the Chinese government's interference in the reincarnation of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet and human rights issues in Tibet, including forced labour and Chinese colonial-style boarding schools for more than a million Tibetan children, as well as the forced separation of children from their parents and families, which aims to eliminate Tibetan identity.

Dharamshala — Central Tibetan Administration held a celebration to commemorate the 63rd Tibetan Democracy Day in Dharamshala, with presence of the Swedish parliamentary delegation and CTA donors. Swedish MP said, “What China does against Tibet and its people are not acceptable. We, as MPs in other countries, we are obliged to raise this situation. Tibet belongs to its people.”

Shewatsel Phodrang, Leh, Ladakh — His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, congratulates Prime Minister Narendra Modi on India’s historic Chandrayaan-3 landing on the Moon on Wenesday and His Holiness said," the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 is a tribute to the people of India who have devoted their attention to scientific development since ancient times."

Washington, D.C. — Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Tuesday that 'the US State Department is taking steps to impose visa restrictions on officials of the People's Republic of China (PRC) for their involvement in the forced assimilation of more than one million Tibetan children into government-run boarding schools. These coercive policies aim to eliminate Tibet's distinct linguistic, cultural and religious traditions among younger generations of Tibetans.'

Washington, DC — The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, California, has passed a resolution declaring the birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama as Peace and Justice Day. The resolution "recognises the Dalai Lama for a lifelong commitment and outstanding contribution to the promotion of nonviolence, human rights, religious tolerance, environmental awareness, and democracy".

Shewatsel Phodrang, Leh, Ladakh — His Holiness the Dalai Lama flew from Leh to Khaltse in the Sham Valley West of Leh and addressed the gathering there. His Holiness said,"Happiness is not about being rich or famous, but enjoying peace of mind. This is what brings us real satisfaction. Therefore, it is essential to found our lives on the practice of love and compassion. Ultimately, when the time comes to draw our last breath, we'll be surrounded by family and friends, who will respond with loving kindness similar to the love and affection our mother showed us when we were born."
