Bodhgaya – His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet has written to Tshering Tobgay to congratulate him on his election as Prime Minister of Bhutan and wished him every success in his efforts for the well-being of his country and its people. His Holiness wrote, "Our Kagyur and Tengyur, which are collections of the translated words of the Buddha and treatises by subsequent Indian masters, contain a wealth of knowledge about the workings of the mind and emotions that can be critically relevant to bringing about a more peaceful world."

Dharamshala — Miss Tibet, Tenzin Paldon, who represents Tibet in the "Miss Global" international beauty pageant, has been withdrawn from the Miss Global pageant due to the Chinese government's pressure on the Cambodian government, which hosts the Miss Global pageant. China's transnational repression has reached Cambodia and the Miss Global organization, which unjustly withdrew Miss Tibet from the contest.

His Holiness wrote, "On the occasion of the New Year, I would like to thank everyone who has sent me good wishes, and I offer my greetings to you all, brothers and sisters across the world. I also firmly believe that we can find peace in the world only when we find peace within. Every human being has the potential to cultivate inner peace, and by so doing to contribute to the peace of our global community."

Bodhgaya — His Holiness the Dalai Lama began his two-day of teaching on Nagarjuna’s In Praise of Dhammadhatu to 50,000 people from 50 countries, at the Kalachakra Teaching Ground, on Friday. His Holiness said, “On my part, I do my best to cultivate the awakening mind of bodhichitta and an understanding of emptiness every day. I urge you my Dharma friends to do the same as best you can.”

Bodhgaya, Bihar — The first International Sangha Forum concluded its three-day meeting with a resolution and a prayer for world peace at the Mahabodhi Temple on Saturday. His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Sakya Gongma Rinpoche, Jangtse Chöje Rinpoche, Ganden Tri Rinpoche and other high-ranking Buddhist lamas gathered to pray for world peace.
