Dharamshala — His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, expressed his condolences to the Prime Minister and the victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal. His Holiness wrote: "I offer my condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones. As a token of my solidarity with the people of Nepal, I hope to be able to make a donation towards the rescue and relief efforts."

Dharamshala — Dharamshala International Film Festival announced that this year's film festival will screen over 90 feature films, documentaries, and short films from 40 countries and will begin November 4, 2023 at Upper Tibetan Children's Village School. The film festival will expose local audiences to meaningful independent cinema, promote and encourage regional filmmaking talent, and provide a forum where filmmakers and film-lovers from India and around the world could interact in an informal and intimate way.

Washington, D.C — The International Campaign for Tibet urged President Joe Biden to raise the issue of Tibet-China conflict resolution with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, both internally and publicly, during their expected meeting in the US next month. ICT calls on Biden to keep his 2020 campaign promise to “work with our allies in pressing Beijing to return to direct dialogue with the representatives of the Tibetan people to achieve meaningful autonomy, respect for human rights.”

Dharamshala — The Library of Tibetan Works and Archives organised two-day an international conference on Perception and Reality (Cosmology and Consciousness Conference VIII) in Dharamshala. Indian philosophers, Western scientists and senior Tibetan Buddhist scholars presented and discussed perception and reality from the perspectives of science, Indian philosophy and Buddhism.

Washington — Representative Chris Smtih (R-NJ) and Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR), respectively chairman and co-chairman of the bipartisan and bicameral Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC), call on the US government to impose "Global Magnitsky sanctions on PRC officials responsible for the forced separation of Tibetan children from their families, a program that results in serious human rights violations and cultural and linguistic erasure."

Taipei — Chime Lhamo, a Tibetan activist from Canada invited to speak on Tibet at the Oslo Freedom Forum, Taiwan on Tuesday and she said, “Free Tibet is a Crime in the Eyes of the Chinese Communist Regime, Tibet is my homeland, it is homeland of thousands of Tibetans in exile who cannot go back and millions of Tibetans who cannot leave Tibet freely. But we will fight every single day and some day we will return our home."
